Emma's story

Emma is a Mobile Independent Living Officer.

My role involves working in the community supporting the independence of elderly and vulnerable tenants of Welwyn and Hatfield. The main part of the job is installing Emergency Lifeline Equipment across the borough for council and private tenants to support people to remain in their homes for as long as possible and create positive steps to promote their wellbeing. We also work with other key professionals, if required, to get the correct help and support.

 

Since being in this role, I have supported many residents allowing them to stay in control of their own wishes, keep their independence, and feel safer and more protected in their homes. I thoroughly enjoy getting to hear about their life stories. This is a very rewarding role knowing you are making a small difference with a great impact to tenants within our community.
