Chelsee’s story

Chelsee recently joined us and is a Graduate Trainee.

I was initially drawn to Welwyn Hatfield Council because of its garden city status. I enjoy being outside, running and going on walks, so I knew I wanted to work in a council that was passionate about the environment and the upkeep of its local area. I also had an interest in the housing sector and the housing crisis, and the council offered me an opportunity to gain experience in this area.

 

In my first months at the council, I have been given numerous opportunities to develop my understanding of how local councils run and the tasks the council performs in Welwyn Hatfield. I have worked on multiple projects, which I have found very rewarding. I have also been able to meet with staff from all departments, which has been a great way to meet people and understand their roles at the council.
